An Appeal For Lasallian Renewal In The Philippines

We are now days into the next 100 years of Lasallian presence in the Philippines, and fair to say - the next 400 years of Lasallian tradition worldwide.
De La Salle is a public trust. Ever since King James asked our founder to put up a school devoted to the development of the children of noble men and merchants, our global institution was never the same. So began a a joint mission of educating the poor and of forming leaders who would be worthy of the opportunities their station affords them.

When we do right by one student, or fail one student, we enable, or disable, not only the potential of one young life. We are also enabling or disabling the potential of the many lives that could have been touched and served by that student as a grown and mature future leader. All Lasallians do become leaders. Be they leaders of a million or a leader of one.

The responsibility entrusted upon the institution's leadership is both a great honor and a great challenge. You have our trust, support, prayers and all that we can possibly offer. We also want to do right by the community by doing the best we in contributing to its excellence. We pray for our community's leaders successful stewardship of the community. We pray for the administrators who oversee our vast and complex institutions. We pray for the National Mission Council and all our institution's trustees. We also pray for all Lasallians that we may do right by the legacy that is being lent to each one of us, and dedicate a part (if not a great part) of our lives to the service of our community, nation and world.

Animo La Salle!
